Home and Community Based Services (HCS)

This program is designed to provide in home services to persons who need assistance but who want to maintain the independence of a home setting and to be integrated in the community. Services provided are in areas such as residential assistance in the home or group home, case management, respite, day habilitation or activity, speech therapy, physical and occupational therapy, dietary services, psychology, audiology, social work, nursing, dental, supported employment and assistance in finding competitive employment, adaptive aids and minor home modifications.

Types of Housing Available:

Group Home
Own Apartment
Family home with supports
Foster / companion care

Criteria for qualifying:

Have a developmental disability (mental retardation, autism, cerebral palsy...)
Receive funding after being on waiting list

Payments Accepted: Medicaid

Texas Home Living

This program is designed to provide in home services to persons who need assistance but who want to maintain the independence of a home setting. Services provided are in areas such as in home and out of home support, respite, day activity, speech, physical and occupational therapy, case management, psychology, nursing, dental, supported employment and assistance in finding competitive employment.
