The Mary Lee Foundation Rehabilitation Center (MLFRC) is a non-profit rehabilitation center providing residential and rehabilitation services to adult survivors of traumatic brain injuries or neurological disorders. Located in central Austin, TX we strive to provide community integration services to on behalf of our clients by providing classroom instruction and the following therapies: Individual Counseling, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy. This is a new position created to increase the variety of services and treatment on behalf of our clients.


Plans and directs therapeutic recreational program on behalf of clients. Organizes group and individual activities according to client’s capabilities, needs, and interests. Organizes and conducts programs/activities including symptom management, basic conversation skills, community re-entry, sports, gardening, dramatics, music, social activities, and arts and crafts. Prepares monthly reports for client’s describing individual client symptoms and reactions to therapeutic programs. Conducts activity therapy assessment of a client’s strengths and needs, and recommends therapeutic activity/goals. Documents progress on each client.


  • Certified Recreation Therapist
  • Bachelors’ degree from an accredited university in Recreation Therapy or related field
  • Must be 21 years of age, possess a current Texas driver’s license, and have a driving record that allows the individual to transport clients as per Mary Lee Foundation insurance requirements.
  • Attain CPR, First Aid, and annual training requirements within the first month of employment.

Salary commensurate with experience
