Guest Speaker: John R. Meinkowsky
                         Policy Advocate for ARCIL

John Meinkowsky has earned B.S. and M.Ed. degrees from the University of Texas and has worked
with ARCIL, Inc. of Austin since 1991. ARCIL provides independent living services to persons with disabilities, their families and communities throughout Travis County and surrounding counties.  ARCIL San Marcos provides services in Hays, Caldwell, Comal and Blanco counties.  ARCIL Round Rock provides services in Williamson, Bell, Burnett and Milam counties.

John’s experience includes the following:
* Development of position papers and provides testimony on public policy issues
* Promote and market ADA technical assistance services and disability awareness training
* Develop educational materials, curricula, and manuals
* Conduct independent living skills classes
* Provide individual advocacy to consumers

John will talk about the Austin Resource Center for Independent Living (ARCIL), the services it provides, accessing affordable housing, financial assistance and other services.
