Guest Speaker: Elizabeth Gregowicz
Elizabeth Gregowicz has worked in several states in the Disability Determination Service (DDS) programs and has an extensive Social Security Administration (SSA) disability background.  In 1994, she joined the Texas DDS as an Associate Commissioner and worked on SSA disability initiatives.  In 2002, she joined the Texas Workforce Commission and worked with Workforce Boards, training providers and educators to assist in meeting the needs of employers and job seekers alike to support the achievement of successful employment outcomes.  In February 2008, she joined Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services Center for Policy and Innovation as the Medicaid Infrastructure Grant (MIG) Administrator.  In that role, a primary focal point for her is the Medicaid-Buy-In program.

Topic of Discussion:
The Medicaid Buy-in Program offers affordable health care coverage to  people with disabilities who work and earn a paycheck.  This program is for people with disabilities that want to go back to work or keep working who are worried about losing their Medicaid coverage if their income level is too high.  They may qualify to buy in to Medicaid coverage by paying a monthly premium.  The Buy-in program offers the same services that others get through Medicaid.  Participants will learn eligibility guidelines, program benefits, review most frequently asked questions and explain how to apply for the program.

PLEASE NOTE: TRAINING SESSIONS are held the second Tuesday of each month

Participants attending the this session will also receive the following Handouts:
•    Ten Myths regarding Traumatic Brain Injury
•    Ten easy ways to reduce your electric bill
•    How to improve your Interviewing Techniques
•    Upcoming Job Readiness Seminar & Community Job Fair

Food Pantry

Good nutrition is necessary, but very expensive. Mary Lee residents typically live on $500-$700/month disability payments. $1 buys at least $4 worth of food for the Mary Lee Food Pantry.
