Information: Health Care Services in Austin

Participants will learn how to obtain a variety of health care services within the Austin Community:
Consumer directed service options
Assisting home health care consumers to become their own employers
Training, tracking, budgeting and billing for home health care services
Consumer support services
Review of the various programs provided by DADS
Participants will encouraged to ask questions about any health care service issue or program within our area.  

Guest Speaker: Melissa Rizzo

Melissa Rizzo is the State Waiver Coordinator from Alamo Consumer Direct.  Alamo is contracted with the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) to provide Consumer Direct Service for the following:
Community Living and Support Services (CLASS)
Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP)
Deaf Blind Multiple Disabilities (DBMD) waivers
Home Community Services (HCS) waiver ~ within the near future
Prior to working at Alamo, Melissa was the Manager of Case Management Services for the Arc of the Capital Area.  Melissa came to Texas from Oregon where she has spent over 10 years in the field of serving people of all ages with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Traumatic Brain Injury.
