Vocational Services

Sheltered Work Center - Mary Lee Foundation's Southpointe Work Center was established in the mid-sixties.  It is designed to enable mentally and physically challenged individuals to improve their day to day functioning on a physical, mental and social level.  It is licensed and regulated by the U.S. Department of Labor.

 

The Southpointe Work Center provides services Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  It is located at 1327 Lamar Square Drive inside the Mary Lee Foundation Community Building.

Key Goals:

~  To teach each client independent working skills

~  To promote work ethics in order to obtain and maintain employment

~  To provide handicapped individuals work through a sheltered workday program

~  To enhance social skills with various activities

 

Objectives:

~  Teach the "Step by Step" Process to Complete Each Work Assignment

~  Task Orientation

~  Punctuality

~  To Promote Positive Work Relationships With Co-Workers

~  Provide Basic Reading, Writing, Math, and Typing Skills

~  Community Outings

~  Working Under Supervision
