Date ~ February 13, 2018 Time ~ 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Mary Lee Foundation Community Center 1327 Lamar Square Drive Austin, Texas 78704
Guest Speaker: Cavin Balaster
Topic of Discussion: How to Feed a Brain
In 2011 Cavin Balaster sustained a severe traumatic brain injury, and did not walk, talk or eat for months while in the Hospital. After about a year he learned some of the nutritional tools that helped him regain some clarity, and he began intensely studying why nutrition made such a difference.
Survivors, family members, friends and professionals will learn about specific brain supporting nutrients, how these nutrients affect us and what we can eat to support our brain function.
You can give any amount within your means as long as you meet the minimum gift amount of $25.
You do not need to create a user account to make a one-time donation during the 24-hour period on Amplify Austin. However, creating an account allows you to set up recurring donations or run a fundraising campaign.
You can cover credit card fees when you donate, plus you will receive an immediate confirmation email thanking you for your donation with your tax receipt attached.
Mary Lee Foundation will receive all donated funds during April which means we can put them to use serving the needs of the special population we work with on a daily basis.
Why Donate During Amplify Austin?
By giving to us during Amply Austin’s 24-hour period on our AmplifyATX.org page your donations are amplified through the incentive pool provided by sponsors and the cash prizes awarded to participating non-profits.

A big “Thank You” to the more than 90 volunteers who turned out for the 2018 Martin Luther King Day of Service at the Mary Lee Foundation’s Southpointe program, which offers every level of care for adults with intellectual disabilities. The volunteers worked to spruce up the grounds, painting, raking leaves and tending to the gardens, also making improvements to the inside of the common areas, assembling furniture, deep cleaning the kitchens and re-organizing the food pantries.
In addition to the improvements made to Southpointe on the square, volunteers traveled to five group homes in Austin managed by the Southpointe program and MLF.
Volunteer We need volunteers to help out with food, face painting, games and more at our Fall Festival on October 27. If you are interested in volunteering, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your donation will go toward renting the large festival tent, purchasing food and drinks, and providing games and entertainment. We appreciate any amount you can contribute.
