This Week Features: THE LITTLE PRINCE

ABOUT THE FILM:

Based on the story by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, this magical musical fable begins as a pilot makes a forced landing on the barren Sahara Desert. He is befriended by a “little” prince from the planet Asteroid B-612. In the days that follow the pilot learns of the small boy’s history and planet-hopping journeys in which he met a King, a businessman, an historian and a general. It isn’t until he comes to Earth that the Little Prince learns the secrets of the importance of life.

This beloved classic of innocence and discovery comes to the screen with its feet planted firmly on the Saharan sand, its eyes tilted to the stars and it spirit brightly soaring to the songs of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Lowe (My Fair Lady, Camelot, Gigi). “The musical score of The Little Prince is a sheer delight,” wrote The New York Times.

The stranded pilot and the wandering child from a faraway place share encounters that amuse, charm and touch the heart. The universe is an enchanting place, and even more when it involves the thought provoking questions posed by The Little Prince.

Featuring: Steven Warner, Joss Ackland, Clive Revill, Victory Spinetti, Graham Crowden, Richard Kiley, Donna McKechnie, Bob Fosse and Gene Wilder
