Low-rent housing planned for Zilker neighborhood
Condo developers say they will give nonprofit $500,000 to build affordable rental units.

Condo developers plan to donate $500,000 to a local nonprofit group to help it build 40 low-cost rental units in the Zilker neighborhood just a few miles from downtown.

Larry Warshaw , Perry Lorenz and Rick Engel , developers of the BartonPlace condominiums on Barton Springs Road , said they will give the money to the Mary Lee Foundation , a long-running nonprofit, to build efficiencies and apartments on Lamar Square Drive .
