On Monday, October 17th, Mary Lee Rehab’s Traumatic Brain Injury Admissions Coordinator, Chip Howe, was awarded the “Martha Arbuckle Meritorious Service Award” during the MCPD’s 37th Annual Employment Awards Program.
In conjunction with the City of Austin, MCPD serves as an advisory body to the city council and city manager established “to encourage, assist and enable persons with disabilities to participate in the social and economic life of the city of Austin, achieve maximum personal independence, become gainfully employed, and use and enjoy fully all public and private facilities available within the community.”
As a Commissioner on the Austin MCPD for over 15 years, Chip was a leader in planning awards and recognition programs at both the local and state level. Throughout his tenure with the Mary Lee Foundation, Chip has assisted thousands of consumers recover from traumatic brain injury and live independent and productive lives.
The recognition of Chip’s generous service to his community was apparent as people hooted and hollered at the announcement of his award. A much deserved award for our “one of a kind” Chip Howe! #InclusionWorks
